The country of Greece is officially known as Hellenic Republic. The
capital of this country is Athens and the official language is Greek. The
currency in Greece is Euro. The form of government in Greece is parliamentary
republic. All the powers derive from the people and exist for the people and
the Nation. The powers shall be exercised as specified by the Constitution.
The President is the head of the State and is elected by the Parliament
whereas the Prime Minister is the head of the Government in Greece. The Parliament in Greece is
referred as Hellenic Parliament. It is the supreme democratic institution that
represents the citizens of Greece by the Members of Parliament who are elected
by the people to represent their concerns and interests in the Parliament.
Hellenic Parliament consists of 300 Deputies who are elected through direct,
universal and secret ballot by the citizens who are eligible to vote for their
desired candidates.
