Italy is a democratic republic and the sovereignty belongs to the people
of Italy which is exercised by the people in the forms and within the limits of
the Constitution of the Italian Republic. The Parliament of Italy is bicameral i.e.,
consisting of two Houses namely: The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of
Republic. The Government of Italy is accountable to the Parliament for the
execution and implementation of the laws.
The Parliament of Italy approves legislations, monitors the activities
of the Government etc. The Parliament represents the interests and concerns of
the people of Italy. The legislative function is exercised collectively by both
the Houses namely Chamber of Deputies and Senate of Republic.
